Smells Cleaner Than Dirt “Scrub” ~ Holiday Giveaway!

It’s time for my Holiday Giveaway I was going to do one of my ornaments but they are fragile and I don’t want to chance one of them breaking during shipping so another one of my fun, festive, frugal projects has been to make this Smells Better Than Dirt “Scrub” or  a.k.a. “Mud Scrub”.

This scrub is amazing you can’t really decide whether it smells more like, coffee, vanilla or peppermint.   This scrub leaves your hands smelling and feeling amazing!  I can’t speak more highly of it…..

I modified this recipe just slightly from Adelyn Stone’s site.…recipes like this have been around for a while but her recipe is the one that inspired me to try to make this again!

Here is my recipe for my version of  Mud Scrub:

1/2 C. white sugar

1/4 C. dark brown sugar

1/4 C. light brown sugar

6 TBSP Coffee grounds

1/2 C. olive oil

1/2  tsp Peppermint Extract

1 1/4  tsp Vanilla Extract

Mix all together and place in canning jars ( I do use a funnel to help in making sure all ingredients get in the jars neatly) make sure folks are mindful that it is made with olive oil so it does have a shelf life but this stuff is so good it will get used up quickly!  This is a good time of year to find close outs on coffee for this recipe so keep an eye out and remember you can always make homemade vanilla for those that have never made it I will share my recipe for homemade vanilla.

Then to finish it off I downloaded a font from the internet I liked and just made a simple label but there are all sorts of label ideas and sites on the web.

So all you need to do to get in on this Giveaway is like Lil’ Suburban on Facebook and leave a comment on this thread that you have liked it…. if you have already liked Lil’ Suburban Homestead on Facebook just leave a comment here that you have +1’d Lil’ Suburban Homestead in the Google Search Engine.    If you do both each comment enters you for the drawing!  When Google searches for Lil’ Suburban Homestead there is a +1 sign right next to the url address!  Thanks so much and I hope you enjoy trying this holiday gift idea!  I will draw names on Christmas Eve for the winner which will be randomly selected with Random.Org.
