Making Your Lil’ Suburban Homestead Your New Hobby

Making Your Lil' Suburban Homestead A Haven

I have to say with the many different directions my family heads in sometimes the last thing we thing about is making our home a harmonious place to reside in. During the school year since I only work 10 months I spend less time at home at least when I’m awake then I do at school and other activities. However in the summer I notice things and after a while they start to drive me crazy. The only thing I can do at that point is do something about it or ignore it. Case in point my son’s room…that is why you haven’t heard from me in a while because I have been painting and gardening. The truth is our homes should be a haven, it should be a place to relax for part of the day and we should look forward to being in it. I have been making my home my hobby lately. I have cleaned out and re-organized all of my kitchen cabinets, I have been painting my son’s room and shopping with him to pick out a new bed set, and I have been tearing the old out of the garden and putting in the fall garden. We are in the harvest time as well. My friend Terry gave us some beautiful peaches so I am in the process of putting them up as well. This time of year leaves no rest for the weary however it is a very gratifying time of the year when we can make more of an impact on our home. I have a back to school blog post coming soon! By the way to all my new suscribers I am so glad you joined us here on the Lil’ Suburban Homestead please share your thoughts, opinions, and ideas we love to hear from you!

Congratulations on getting so much accomplished. When we go back to New Hampshire this fall, I must do some organizing. You can only put it off for so long.
